I am neither Zomi, nor Manipuri nor Indian. I am just a humble kamzalian, nothing more, nothing less! And I am proud to be kamzalian. I was glad when my friends asked me the meaning of my name. I used to tell them proudly, syllable by syllable; kam was taken from my god father; my maternal grand father’s name Luankam, where kamkei means Lion in English, Za means many and lian means great. So literally my name means ‘as great as many lions’. It used to be welcome with a big WOW when I explain the meaning of my name.
